As you well know, oriental rugs take time to get to know, as each has their own personality. In our new home in Bali , each has found a perfect place, and each gives their own unique flavor and ambience to our rooms. In short, they are essential to the warmth and elegance we wanted in our new home.

Eri’s Balinese family, whenever visiting, (which is at least semi-weekly), prefer to sit on them, forgoing the comfort of upholstered chairs or couches. In short, they are all a big hit in our little village...the kids still asking where is the steering wheel and the gear lever needed to make them fly!

Dear Nancy,  

We hope that your recent trip out of country was everything you hoped for.  For us, your rugs were all that we could hope for, and more.  After several days of haggling with Customs, we finally had the chance of opening up these seven delightful packages, and laying out these rugs on our floor.  What a great pleasure that was!  

As you know from my previous e-mails, my wife is Balinese.  She had only my word, up until tonight, about these rugs.  But as each of the seven rugs was unwrapped and laid out, her eyes grew ever bigger by the moment.  So did the Javanese boys who work for us.  For them, it was like a Koran being opened and laid upon the floor. If you ever need a testament, or words from a very happy customer, you can count on us.  These rugs are wonderful, and they fit into our house and Bali perfectly.   

Simply put, we cannot thank you enough, nor can we adequately express our delight with these rugs.  They are all now the soul of our new house, and their beauty and warmth will be enjoyed by an endless host of people who visit us daily.   

Getting these rugs cleared here in Bali, Indonesia was a classic nightmare.  In the end, it cost us another $1.450.00 US to get the job done.  As I amortize that over each of the seven rugs, adding on their cost, plus your handling/shipping, and the actual cost of shipping the rugs, plus customs, it comes out to about US $700.00 per rug delivered and on our floor here in Bali.  For me, that is very reasonable and still is a great bargain when one considers the high end retail prices for comparable rugs in the market.  

From this experience, we have learned a whole lot, and the pitfalls we encountered with this shipment could easily be avoided in the future.  In time, there will be many other expatriates who will see how our rugs give a soul and life to the rooms we lay them in.  We have very little doubt that your rugs, and working with you could be a good mutual business.  

Many thanks again for your professionalism and honesty.  We are not the least bit surprised why you were singled out and awarded by eBay.  Dealing internationally can be a royal pain in the ass, but you handle this with great proficiency.  We will be back and that is something you can count on.  Our only hope is that this notice is good news for you!

The rug arrived safely this afternoon.  I've already gone in and left positive feedback for you in ebay.  I also wanted to contact you directly as the room they give on ebay for feedback doesn't give enough space to let you know how strongly I feel about this purchase. 

First of all, I want you to know how much I appreciate your willingness to take the time to answer my questions.  We made a decision a few months ago to make some change to our home, beginning with the rugs.  We also made the decision that we wanted these new rugs in our home to be beautiful ones that would last the rest of our lives.  Thus, we have spent the last few months in virtually every rug store within a 200 mile radius from our home.  I was frankly tired of the run of the mill department store rugs that look great for a short time then slowly begin to mat up and lose their look.  It would not be an understatement to say that I have looked at and touched a thousand of rugs.  I have been on a steep learning curve.  Having looked at a lot of rugs closer to home and not finding anything that really impressed me, I decided to give ebay a try. I wanted to be a knowledgeable consumer so I've been busy learning the difference between hand tufted and hand knotted; studying styles so I could narrow my search; and learning as much as I could about the rugs from different regions. 

When my rug arrived today, I have to admit to feeling a little trepidation.  The pictures of the rug on ebay were nice but absolutely nothing prepared me for the quality of the rug I bought from you.  The workmanship is stunning. The colors bright and rich.  To say this rug is a work of art is an understatement.  While the pile is a little shorter than I expected, the quality and softness of the wool more than made up for it. I even flipped the rug over and counted the kpsi's.  They were so tight, I had to count a few times to make sure I had it right.  I wanted to tell you thank you for giving me the chance to own a rug like this.  You probably see so many rugs in your line of work that my little rug is nothing special to you.  To me, it is one of the most beautiful rugs I've ever seen.  The jumble of rugs I've bought over the years are heading out and being replaced with more quality rugs like this one.  I'm a believer now!  Thanks for showing me what a quality rug can do for the look of my home.  Signed.
